Based on my last name's Chinese character, I abstracted the distinct strokes and created an illusional space. The figures that break the boundaries of dimensions represent my exceptional creative self.
Geong-Bok Palace (18in. x 24in.)
I observed the complicated yet brilliant Korean craftsmanship during the 1300s by sketching this symbolic palace in my birthplace. I realized how each wooden component of the structure was designed to be dovetailed with another since no bolts and screws were used at the time.

This series of observational drawings, displaying different close-up angles of the reel, elaborate on the components and the multi-functions of this tool.
